- What happened with the wagon? Did John leave it? Get it out? Explain in detail what happened and how it happened.
- What happened to John right at the end of the chapter?
- In chapter 18, what did John find in the water? How will that item help him moving forward?
- Explain what John did with the item he found in the water. He found it, got it out of the water, but then what happened? What did he do with it? Explain the process he went through with that item.
Blog #4 – Chapters 11 and 12
- In a paragraph or more, summarize these two chapters.
- What was the most shocking part of these two chapters? Why?
- Make a prediction for what’s going to happen next to John!
Blog #3 – Courage
Today, I’d like you to think about how you find courage.
As you blog about courage, answer the following questions:
- What does it mean to be courageous?
- Who is someone in your life that you would call “courageous?” Why do you consider that person to be courageous?
- How do you show courage in your life?
- How does John show courage? (at least 3 instances)
You’ll be graded on:
- Mechanics (spelling, punctuation, complete sentences)
- Length (will be noted in each blog post) (one of the only times I actually grade on length)
- Content (Does your post actually answer the prompt, or did you go off on a tangent, or is it completely unrelated somehow?)
- Depth of thinking (Did you actually dig deeper into the prompt, rather than just being like, “Oh yeah, well, let me just crank this thing out and get this done quickly.” I can tell when you don’t spend time with things!)
Blog #2 – Identity
Please make sure to write in complete sentences.
For this first blog, I’d like you to blog about identity.
First, tell what identity means to you.
Second, describe what you know about John’s identity. Also talk about how John views himself.
Third, describe your own identity. (Relate your identity to John’s, if possible.) If you’re stuck, use these questions to spark your response:
- If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be and why?
- What are your likes/dislikes?
- What groups do you associate yourself with?
You’ll be graded on:
- Mechanics (spelling, punctuation, complete sentences)
- Length (will be noted in each blog post) (one of the only times I actually grade on length)
- Content (Does your post actually answer the prompt, or did you go off on a tangent, or is it completely unrelated somehow?)
- Depth of thinking (Did you actually dig deeper into the prompt, rather than just being like, “Oh yeah, well, let me just crank this thing out and get this done quickly.” I can tell when you don’t spend time with things!)
Blog #1 – PreReading
In a paragraph (5-8 sentences) tell a story about survival you or someone you’ve know has experienced.
What happened? Where were you/they? How did they survive? Was there really any question about NOT surviving?
Blogs are graded on:
- Mechanics (spelling, punctuation, complete sentences)
- Length (will be noted in each blog post) (one of the only times I actually grade on length)
